JOB SUMMARY: Tea Specialist - SCC - Spinning Cone Cycle Specialist - 3rd Shift hours tentatively 2:00 pm - 10:30 pm, Sunday - Thursday. The Production Operator will be responsible for the safe operation and management of various machines and equipment used in tea extraction and production. Key responsibilities include starting up and calibrating extraction equipment, loading tea hoppers, and monitoring and managing the performance of SCCs, decanters, centrifuges, microfilters, and CT12 machines. The operator will also handle tea dumpsters, pull and analyze samples of essence and solids, and manage the packing and storage of these materials.

Additional duties involve performing Clean-In-Place (CIP) procedures on equipment, cleaning extraction areas, and rinsing equipment exteriors. The Production Operator ensures that production runs efficiently according to daily and weekly plans, while also providing support for upstream processing, routine sample analysis, and occasional project needs. This role requires a deep understanding of SCC operations, troubleshooting, and process improvement to support our production goals.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Operate and monitor SCC equipment to ensure optimal performance and product quality.

Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting of SCC systems.

Analyze process data and implement improvements to enhance efficiency and yield.

Collaborate with the production team to develop and refine SCC operating procedures.

Ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards.

Train and mentor junior staff on SCC operations and best practices.

Document and report on SCC performance, maintenance activities, and process improvements.

Start up all extraction equipment

Load tea hoppers

Calibrate SCC’s and enter setpoints

Run and monitor SCC’s

Run and monitor Decanters

Run and monitor Centrifuge

Run and monitor Microfilter

Run and monitor CT12

Manage tea dumpsters

Pull samples of essence and solids

Pack off and put away essence and solids

CIP all equipment after run is finished

Clean tea extraction areas and rinse down all equipment exteriors

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS:

Must have HMI mechanical experience.

Minimum of 2 years of experience with SCC technology or similar separation processes.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.

Proficiency in data analysis and process optimization.

Knowledge of safety and regulatory requirements in the industry.

Experience in the food and beverage industry.

Familiarity with process control systems and instrumentation.

Certification in relevant technical areas.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Repetitive lifting 50 to 60 pounds 

Climbing stairs and ladders 

Prolonged standing and walking 

Repetitive bending, twisting and kneeling 

Visual acuity to read instructions, operate machines, and inspect product

·         Ability to work in high-temperature environments

·         Ability to tolerate prolonged heat
