Job Description
Global Business Services adds value to the McDonald’s system by providing best-in-class services and solutions that support our business effectively and efficiently in the areas of cost, time, quality and compliance. The McDonald’s GBS Finance Payroll Services Department is focused on delivering exceptional customer service and high-quality results in a timely and accurate manner while ensuring adherence to internal controls. McDonald’s Payroll Department provides services associated with the full life cycle of an employee (hire to retire services) to over 65,000 active employees located in both the US and Canada.
The Payroll Supervisor is responsible for leading the full US garnishment process as well as guiding the payroll processing and subsequent accounting for the Global Mobility assignees (inpats/expats). The position also plays a key role in ensuring adherence to internal controls, reporting and analyzing departmental metrics, and other special project duties related to payroll overall and its impact on the financial statements.
Principle Accountabilities:
Lead a high performing team with a focus on exceptional customer experience and quality results in compliance with internal and governmental deadlines.
Ability to manage through ambiguity and develop proactive thinking.
Build effective internal and global partnerships and actively promote cross-functional collaboration to ensure business goals are achieved.
Partner cross-functionally to design, develop and implement new processes and enhancements needed to deliver superior execution.
Develop and implement continuous improvement recommendations to achieve cost and processing efficiencies as well as improve employee experience.
Solve complex situations that arise, analyze the root cause of problems and identify sustainable solutions.
Ensure global assignees’ payroll components are correctly processed in OracleHCM, properly costed to the general ledger and charged to global markets in accordance with assignment agreements.
Guide the team processing involuntary payroll deductions received from garnishing authorities including reviewing reports, resolving exceptions, assisting with inquiries, or researching and actioning required adjustments.
Communicate effectively with areas of the business including but not limited to IT, Legal, US Payroll, McOpCo HR, Operations and employees by various methods.
