A prestigious company is looking for a Principal System Administrator. This admin will focus 85% on windows on prem operational support and troubleshooting. The other 15% will focus on Linux, Vmware, DNS, SCCM, Azure cloud, networking, Citrix, containerization, etc.

Responsibilities & Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or technical degree in related field or equivalent experience
  • 6+ years' experience in Infrastructure administration as it relates to the hardware and software components that align to technologies supported at the company.
  • Experience maintaining Windows platform and 3rd party software to a n-2 operating level
  • Experience administering an Windows environment
  • Experience in a variety of data center operations roles as Mainframe/midrange system support roles
  • Strong knowledge of midrange computing systems
  • Experience in Microsoft Operating System; Windows & Unix (preferred)
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Web Technologies
  • Knowledge of 3-Tier Architecture
  • Knowledge of Backup tools (BRMS, Tivoli and Backup Exec)
  • Knowledge of Replication/HA Tools (Mimix, iTerra, DoubleTake)
  • Knowledge of OS & PTF Upgrades using Image Catalogs
  • Knowledge of Logical Partions and Performance Monitoring
  • Knowledge of HMC/Hardware management console
  • Knowledge of Databases (DB2) and CL Programing
  • Knowledge of IBM's Client Access and the associated tools
  • Experience in an environment supporting 300+ production Microsoft Windows Servers
  • Experience providing administrative experience in an environment supporting Linux operating system
  • Experience supporting VMware Virtual Infrastructures
  • Experience supporting server hardware platforms such as: Cisco UCS, Dell, HP
  • Experience using patch management solution such as Microsoft SCCM
  • Experience supporting cloud infrastructures such as: Azure, AWS
  • Experience supporting and tuning administration tools such as SolarWinds & MS SCOM
  • Storage Admin
  • Experience with infrastructure and storage theories, principles, and concepts
  • Experience with the management of storage replication such as SRDF, SnapMirror, Replicate VM, or like solution
  • Experience managing storage technologies for cloud, open stack, and big data environments
  • Experience managing NAS, SAN, DAS, Fiber channel Switches, HBA's and other storage related equipment
  • Experience in the implementation and management of the following storage vendors; IBM, NetApp, Tintri, EMC, Dell, CommVault, Symantec, Microsoft, and AWS
  • Experience working with Infrastructure solutions such as Microsoft, AIX, server virtualization, IBM, Linux/Unix, Cisco, Palo Alto,
  • Experience managing storage for disaster recovery and high availability architectures
  • Experience in Cisco Networking & VOIP
  • Knowledge of OSPF, IGRP, EIGRP, BGP's advanced features, VLAN's and Multi- layer switching
  • Professional level understanding of Palo Alto Firewalls and Aruba wireless systems
  • CCNP or equivalent is required
  • Capability to understand Southern's application portfolio as well as how the different systems contribute to daily business operations
  • SAP Opentext Admin
  • Professional level experience with the following OpenText software modules including LiveLink Content Server, Archive Server, Workflow and Advanced Workflow, SAP Extended ECM, and SAP Data Archiving.
  • Professional level experience supporting an Opentext landscape on a Microsoft Windows, Microsoft SQL database, and Microsoft Server environment
  • Expertise in administering Opentext configurations including scan stations, networking, WORM technologies, and SAP data archiving
  • Professional experience in managing availability and performance tuning of the Opentext software including underlying database and O/S
  • Professional experience of change management processes of the Opentext application and technology components across the Opentext landscape
  • Exposure to managing Opentext in the cloud
