Finegreen are currently supporting the interim appointment of a senior healthcare estates officer, ideally with NHS experience to work within the capital projects team within the Trust.
The post holder is responsible to the Deputy Director of Estates and Facilities to deliver an annual programme of capital projects to improve the backlog and health and safety of the Trust estate. The role will also involve acting as project lead for capital projects allocated on an annual basis by the Trust and leading on Building/M&E services across the team by co-ordinating input on capital projects from the Trusts Authorised Persons (APs).
Main Responsibilities:
Prepare and keep under review the 5 year investment plan for the estate, and provide assistance to the Head of Estates with the completion of ERIC, PAM and other national returns and maintaining up to date drawing files for MICAD;
Co-ordinate building/mechanical and electrical responses and commissioning for all capital projects and be an authorised person for at least two building/mechanical and or electrical systems;
The post holder will be expected to work as part of an active operational estates service and support colleagues as necessary to deliver a seamless service across the Trust geographical area;
To assist with the full range of duties in the implementation of building and engineering works as part of the Trust’s Capital Programme;
Prepare designs for major capital works in accordance with NHS Health Technical Memorandum (HTMs) and Health Building Notes (HBNs), British Standards and all current legislation;
To take the Building/M&E technical lead on identified issues related to the management of Estates, Building and Engineering works and providing accurate up to date advice as required;
To ensure a seamless transfer of completed projects to the Estates operational team to ensure a safe environment for patient’s staff and visitors;
Maintain a close and effective working relationship with the Estates Team to achieve an effective and integrated Estates service;
The ideal candidate:
Specialist Building/Mechanical & Electrical knowledge including legislation to degree level or equivalent work experience Proven record of post graduate knowledge plus experience or continuous professional development in specialist areas of Estate Management;
Acting as an Authorised Person in an building / electrical or mechanical position;
Good organisational, management and project management skills including team leadership;
Highly developed specialist knowledge and understanding across all aspects of healthcare design and technology including technical knowledge of estate maintenance;
