Supplier Quality Engineer
In this role you will enjoy working closely with suppliers, ensuring that they meet our needs and quality standards. The role is externally focussed with extensive travel for supplier sites across our portfolio.
You will Implement and deploy Supplier Quality Product Assurance across the unit supplier portfolio to drive improved performance. More specifically to prevent nonconformities to occur at point of receipt of commodities into the unit. In this role you will report to the Quality Manager.
You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to address quality issues, drive continuous improvement, and contribute to building high-quality products that exceed customer expectations.
Role specification and tasks
NPI risk analysis with outsourced products in collaboration with the relevant NPI leader.
Product qualification at supplier premises and assurance of alignment to all required processes and tools.
Ensuring manufacturability and conformity at supplier premises in conjunction with engineering and sourcing.
Supplier NCR review & governance.
Support development via formal tools, training and process evaluation.
Deployment and management of Supplier Quality tools to support the development and performance of suppliers.
Provide support to Coordination of PSI with sourcing/procurement.
Monitoring of supplier performance & improvement (identification of deteriorating trends and implementation of action plans with and sourcing involvement to drive continual improvement.
Person specification and skills
Experience in supplier Quality Assurance with extensive background in developing supplier capability and driving improved performance.
Expertise in the use of the prevention tools including FMEA’s, Process capability, R&R, 8D…
Knowledge of manufacturing processes in the supply of all products we manufacture.
An in-depth knowledge of Quality Assurance techniques such as Advanced Quality Planning, PFMEA, PDCA, 7 tools of QC, SPC, PPAP, 5-Why & 8D is required.
Clear report writing skills together with strong verbal and written communication skills.
A good working ability with Microsoft packages, particularly spreadsheets (Excel) and Word Processing (Word).
Detailed knowledge of ISO9001:2015 and additional industry specific Accreditations such as AS9100.
Effective stakeholder management and collaboration.
The ability to support quality investigations including root cause analysis methodologies.
Knowledge of business management systems and associated processes.
Experience of capability evaluations of new sources.
