Karya Property Management is looking to hire a full time Plumbing Technician to support our properties across our Jacksonville, FL and Orlando, FL Portfolio.

As a Plumbing Technician , you will be responsible for supporting 10 Multi-family properties across 2 regions. This position reports to the Lead Maintenance Supervisor and VP of Operations.

Responsibilities:

Troubleshoot, Install repair and maintain plumbing systems in multi-family residential environments 

Experience performing repair with copper, steel, cast iron, PVC, CPVC, PEX and other piping. 

Ability to detect source of leaks within confines of building, underground, working internally and on exterior of building to find source of error. 

Perform drain cleaning on plumbing systems 

Perform Sewage backup troubleshooting and repairs 

Work with blueprints and job specifications as it applies to the craft 

Identity proper materials and quantities for new and existing projects 

Reviews blueprints, building codes, or specifications to determine work details or procedures. 

Keeps records of work assignments. 

Repairs, removes and / or replaces system components. 

Installs green plumbing equipment, such as faucet flow restrictors, dual-flush or pressure-assisted flush toilets, or tankless hot water heaters. 

Welds small pipes or special piping, using specialized techniques, equipment, or materials, such as computer-assisted welding or microchip fabrication. 

Performs other business-related duties, as required. 

Requirements:

1 + years of experience in multifamily maintenance or equivalent field

HVAC and EPA certified

High School Diploma or Equivalent required

Customer service experience

Must have a valid driver’s license

Bilingual is a plus, but not required

Must be flexible and dependable

Must be a team player

Travel is expected for this position.  

Must have a valid updated driver's license 

Must be able to drive 

Must also be able to be insurable  

Ability to support facilities in Jacksonville and Orlando, Florida – Traveling between regions 40% to 100% of the time. 

Physical Requirements / Working Conditions:

Prolonged periods sitting, standing, and walking throughout the workday

Push, pull, bend, stoop, squat, kneel, climb stairs, and reach above shoulders

Must be able to lift and / or move up to 50 pounds

Must be able to work indoors / outdoors or in extreme weather conditions

Must be able to work weekends and/or evenings on a rotating schedule

Requirements

2+ years of previous experience in plumbing upkeep, electrical, and other relevant apartment maintenance

Working knowledge of building maintenance

Ability to communicate orally and written in a clear fashion

Skilled in operation maintenance tools in a safe manner

Ability to handle physical workload up to 50lbs

Ability to work every other weekend as needed

Deadline and detail-oriented

Valid Driver’s License

Spanish proficiency preferred but not required
