The Quality Engineer is responsible for implementing the Quality Management System for the CNC machining and assembly departments to ensure that the products produced meet the required quality standards.

Responsibilities 

Review systems and processes to develop continued improvements and efficiencies

Inspect and test processes and products to ensure they meet or exceed standards

Collaborate with Design and Manufacturing Engineering along with the Operations groups to identify opportunities for improvement to workflow and establish controls to eliminate waste

Establish and implement quality standards

Create quality documentation such as procedures, work instructions and forms

Create balloon drawings and inspection reports with the appropriate inspection techniques

Work closely with Engineers to minimize risk by identifying the frequency for monitoring critical characteristics on products

Provide training and support in measurement techniques and use of quality improvement tools

Communicating quality related issues with customers, engineering / production teams, and suppliers

Attention to detail to ensure that products are being produced to the required specifications

Program inspection devices such as the Zeiss CMM, Keyence IM, and Micro-Vu.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

2-5 yrs. of experience in a Manufacturing Environment

Associate or Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field

Certified Quality Engineer (ASQ - Preferred)

Six-Sigma for Product & Process Improvement a plus

Experience with programming and operation of Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM), inspection of machine components, and performance of gage R&R studies (Preferred)

ISO 9001:2015 Internal auditor (Preferred)

Experience in CAPA, root cause analysis, and 8D
