Hitec Power Protection Inc. is presently accepting applications for a field Mechanical Installation Technician. His/her homebase is preferably Rosenberg or Northern Virginia region. Hitec Power Protection sells, installs, and maintains Rotary Uninterruptible Power Systems for mission critical applications. This market and customers demand the highest levels of onsite customer support focused on professional, efficient, and effective performance.
Job Duties:
Maintain Toolbox Inventory and Maintain Tools in Good working order.
Work at Customer Job Site Locations for the Controlled Demolition Activities of Legacy Equipment (at end of useful life).
Equipment includes Generators, Frame Assemblies, Heavy Rotating Equipment, Clutches, and all mechanical fasteners.
Work at Customer Job Site Locations for the Systematic Assembly of New HITEC Rotary UPS Equipment including:
Assist in setting heavy equipment at site working closely with riggers and other customer personnel
Ensuring proper mechanical alignment of heavy equipment skids for ease of connections via mechanical bolts and torque verifications.
Following Company provided Work Instructions and Quality Assurance Documents to ensure the assemblies meet specification
Apply correct mechanical installation of grease tubes, injection of grease and engine assembly components
Assist on-site Senior Service Personnel with detailed alignments and critical functional checks of the mechanical installation
As more knowledge of the Mechanical Assembly is achieved, there is potential opportunity for growth in becoming more involved with Site Start Up Support Activities, but this is not the main focus of the position
Specific non defined site duties which may be assigned once allocated to a job site location
Ability to lift 50lbs
Use of MS Suite (Outlook, document, etc.)
Requirements
Degree or Education in Automotive or Generator Repair helpful, but not necessary
Mechanical Aptitude – meaning knowledge and use of torque wrenches, lifting equipment, bearings, and small hand tools
Read and Understand Mechanical Engineered Drawings
Must be willing to get hands on, which will entail getting dirty/greasy at times.
Self-Starter
Ability and willingness to learn on the job
Capable of working in a team environment
Willing to work to meet customer schedules and self-motivated to be on time and dedicated once on a job site location
Valid Driver’s License
Willing to Travel – 2-3 week travel blocks will be a regular part of this job responsibility. Usually 2 weeks break at home location between travel periods
Schedule is set in advance, and there will be an effort to limit any last-minute unscheduled travel whenever possible
Benefits

$40 per hour in addition to salary, when called out in Emergency situations outside of normal workday hours (happens rarely)
Full-time position with a guaranteed 40 hours per week
