About the Job:

Sandy Spring Bank is hiring for a Regional Manager. The Regional Manager is a key figure in orchestrating the sales, service, and operational activities across branch offices within the designated region. This role is central to driving the performance of deposit and loan sales, alongside ensuring superior product/service referrals to key partners. The Regional Manager leads Branch Managers towards surpassing goals in sales, growth, efficiency, and profitability, all while upholding the highest standards of customer service and operational excellence. With a strong focus on operational integrity, this position is responsible for maintaining compliance with all banking policies and regulations, optimizing branch operations for efficiency and effectiveness, and ensuring the readiness of branches to meet the evolving needs of customers. The Regional Manager champions a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and compliance, ensuring the branches operate seamlessly and contribute significantly to the bank’s strategic objectives.

MAJOR JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES:

Sales & Service:

Following established practices to provide consistent and effective sales management.

Achieving sales goals through robust sales activity management and ensuring branch teams are effectively utilizing the customer relationship management system.

Analyzing market trends, understanding competition, developing and adapting strategies to grow market share.

Ensuring high standards of customer service, handling key client accounts or complaints.

Stay informed about industry changes, customer preferences, and adjust sales approaches accordingly.

Leadership:

Guides and supports branch managers, fostering an environment of growth and development through regular performance evaluations and succession planning.

Actively engages in branch operations, providing hands-on leadership to enhance sales, customer service, and operational efficiency.

Promotes a culture of innovation and efficiency improvement, contributing to the bank's profitability.

Builds and maintains positive community relationships by engaging in local events and initiatives, reinforcing the bank's presence and leadership in the region.

Operations:

Oversees the daily operations of branches, ensuring compliance with policies and procedures.

Leads efforts to train staff in fraud prevention and detection, safeguarding customer and bank interests.

Strives for operational excellence to optimize costs without compromising service quality.

Monitors and acts upon key performance indicators to enhance branch performance and maintain high audit ratings.

Compliance:

Ensures all branch staff complete necessary compliance training, fostering an environment of strict adherence to banking regulations and laws.

Oversees compliance with the Bank Secrecy Act and other regulatory requirements, ensuring no violations and maintaining 100% compliance.

Promotes a culture of transparency and integrity, where employees feel empowered to report compliance concerns.

Required Skills:

Proven leadership and management skills in a banking or financial services environment, with a minimum of 7 years in a managerial role, preferably overseeing multiple locations.

Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, or a related field is preferred.

NMLS required.

Comprehensive understanding of banking products, services, and applicable laws and regulations.

Exceptional communication, coaching, and motivational skills to drive team performance and innovation.

Ability to manage multiple priorities, think quickly under pressure, and maintain high levels of diplomacy and tact in all interactions.

Proficiency in standard office software and specific banking systems, such as the FIS Banking System.

SPECIFIC PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Requires mobility within the office and the ability to operate standard office and communication equipment.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

General office environment with minimal discomfort due to temperature or noise.

Regular travel within the bank's operational footprint is necessary.

Compensation Information:

At Sandy Spring Bank, compensation is one part of our total rewards package. Compensation within the range will depend on your skills, qualifications, education, experience, and location.
