Overview:
We are currently seeking an experienced Supplier Quality Engineer to join our Enterprise Supply Chain Team. This role is critical to the ERMCO supply chain relative to spend with 3rd party suppliers. The quality and performance of direct material and component suppliers define the scope of the role. The Supplier Quality Engineer will collaborate closely with internal teams to develop and implement improvement initiatives, conduct supplier audits, and manage non-compliance /non-conformance. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in supplier performance management, quality assurance, and supply chain management, with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. The ultimate intent is to set up a program that identifies exposures and potential supplier issues before they impact operations as well as react and identify root causes of ongoing performance issues so that they can be resolved effectively.
Responsibilities:
Lead the development and maintenance of a supplier performance management process, including supplier segmentation, performance monitoring, and supplier development programs inclusive of corrective actions
Develop, implement, and monitor supplier performance/quality standards and processes to ensure compliance with company and regulatory requirements
Measure, analyze, and manage the performance of a supplier in an effort to , , and drive continuous improvement
Conduct regular supplier audits to assess their quality management systems, identify areas for improvement, and ensure corrective actions are effectively implemented
Design, assemble and present convene Quarterly Business Reviews with Strategic Suppliers
Work collaboratively with suppliers and stakeholders to develop and implement continuous improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing product quality and performance.
Analyze supplier performance data to identify trends, root causes of quality issues, and develop strategies to mitigate risks
Coordinate with procurement and engineering teams to ensure quality requirements are integrated into supplier selection and evaluation processes
Lead the resolution of quality issues related to sourced materials and components, including root cause analysis, corrective action implementation, and verification of effectiveness
Facilitate the communication of technical and quality requirements to suppliers and ensure that documentation, such as specifications and inspection criteria, is clear and comprehensive
Participate in cross-functional teams to drive quality improvements across the supply chain, contributing to overall operational excellence
Stay abreast of industry trends, best practices, and new technologies in quality management and supply chain optimization
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality Assurance, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
Minimum of 3 years of experience in Supplier Performance Management within a manufacturing or supply chain environment.
Proven track record of conducting supplier audits and implementing and quality improvement initiatives.
Experience in working with cross-functional teams to resolve quality issues and improve supplier performance.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to conduct detailed root cause analysis and implement effective solutions.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of building strong relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
