Overview:

CNC Lead works with department supervision to ensure incoming orders are analyzed, organized, and prioritized.  Quality checks are performed on work in progress and finished goods.  Works with CNC machinery and Cad/CAM software as needed.  Train team members on best practices, monitors department for training and safety compliance and reports deficiencies to supervision.  Oversee and maintain tooling inventory, machine lubricants and fluids, and departmental supplies, reporting needs to Supervisor.

Requirements

Read blueprint drawings and parts list to process parts

Experience using hand and power tools

Ability to perform basic math skills

Proficient in G-Code programming and/or CadCAM software

Set up, adjust, and efficiently operate CNC and manual machine tools to perform diversified and difficult operations requiring close/exact tolerances on products with various dimension and finish specifications

Calculate and set controls and programming to regulate machining factors such as speed, feed, coolant flow and depth and angle of cut

Select, align, and secure holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials into machine

Maintain and inspect cutting tools for sharpness and usability

Start and observe machine operation to detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining and adjust machine controls as required

Clean and maintain machine, tooling, and parts to ensure that the equipment is in optimal production condition

Maintain and edit CNC programs to fine tune process for optimum performance

Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, and other basic software

Physical Requirements 

Heavy industrial environment with mechanical activities requiring personal protective equipment.  While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to:

Stand for extended periods of time

Sit, Stoop, Bend

Reach above shoulders

Lift 50 pounds
