Position: OR-Operating Room Nurse-, Permanent Job
Position Overview:
We are currently seeking a skilled and experienced OR-Operating Room Nurse to join our team in Hartsville, SC. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in perioperative nursing and will be responsible for providing care to patients before, during, and after surgical procedures. This is a full-time, permanent position with a $10K sign on bonus.
Our hospital has been an integral part of the lives of people throughout Darlington County and the surrounding areas for over 20 years. Our 116-bed hospital offers a full range of inpatient, outpatient and emergency room services to a service area totaling over 125,000 individuals. We are dually accredited by the Joint Commission and Healthcare Facilities Accreditation Program (HFAP), a Primary Stroke Center, an Accredited Chest Pain Center, and a Blue Distinction Maternity Center. Responsibilities:
- Assess patients' condition before surgery
- Ensure that all required equipment and supplies are available in the operating room
- Prepare patients for surgery by washing and disinfecting incision sites
- Assist the surgical team during procedures by passing instruments and supplies
- Monitor patients' vital signs during surgery
- Administer medications as needed
- Communicate with patients and their families about the surgical process and post-operative care
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure the best possible patient outcomes
- Maintain accurate and thorough documentation of patient care and procedures
Qualifications:
- Current RN license in the state of South Carolina
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in the OR department and/or perioperative nursing
- BLS and ACLS certification
- Strong knowledge of surgical procedures and equipment
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and high-stress environment
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including on-call and weekends
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
