Overview:

i3 is seeking a Software Engineer to support the MLRS team located on Redstone Arsenal, in Huntsville, Alabama. Preferred candidates will have a strong understanding in programming fundamentals and troubleshooting skills. Additionally knowledge in Visual Studio/Visual Studio Code, Android Studio, or other major integrated development environment (IDE). Software Engineers should be capable of learning new frameworks, languages, and development environments. This is a fast paced, exciting, position, with exposure to the latest Army capabilities.  The tools developed will help inform the Army and Joint community of the next generation capabilities to develop. This is an on-site position located at Redstone Arsenal in Huntsville, AL.

Responsibilities:

Design and development of hardware-in-the-loop systems used to test embedded software for military weapon systems primarily as a Modeling and Simulations Engineer using Simulink; This includes the full life cycle of a software program, requirements analysis, design, coding, integration, test, documentation, and support.

Perform software analysis, code analysis, requirements analysis, software reviews, software risk analysis, and software reliability analysis.

Responsible for software testing and user/system requirements verification/validation processes and procedures.

Participate in software team meetings, hardware and software design reviews, and technical interchange meetings.

Be willing and able to coordinate with other Cyber, Safety, QC, Operations, and Test organizations to deliver high quality working software.

Work in a team environment, with well-defined goals, supporting both new and legacy embedded systems.

Receive timely feedback on software implementation by working directly with the customer, ensuring agility and delivering a software product that fills immediate needs.

Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Education/Experience

Bachelor’s degree required. Additional experience may substitute for degree. 

1-2+ years in Software Development or similar experience preferred. 

Knowledge of:C, or C++

Simulink modeling and Code Generation to design control algorithms

Strong embedded systems concepts knowledge and ability to participate in all phases and activities of the software development lifecycle

One or more of the additional skills strongly preferredObject-oriented programming and design

Software Development for Embedded Systems experience

Agile Development experience within Scrum teams

Continuous Integration and Automation

Team leadership and prior experience helping to recruit engineers

Active DoD secret security clearance highly preferred, interim clearance required to start.

U.S. Citizenship is required.

Knowledge/Skills

Knowledge of office administration and procedures.

Exceptional judgment capabilities and relationship management skills.

Excellent communication, teamwork, and client service skills; ability to clearly communicate in discussions and written documents, and to deliver feedback clearly and tactfully.

Interact with a diverse array of customers and staff in a professional and courteous manner.

Work independently with accountability for accurate and complete results.

Be extremely organized and exceptionally detail oriented.

Work well both independently and in a team environment.

Be energized by a fast-paced work environment.

Must be able to communicate with others effectively.

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms.

The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must be able to lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Regular i3 hours are 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Monday-Friday, however, additional hours may be required on occasion. Regular and punctual attendance is required.
