The Technical Ceramics business of Morgan Advanced Materials engineers high performance functional and structural ceramic materials, components and sub-assemblies to address customer-specific technical challenges.

Key Figures: Revenue £1,114.7m (2023), ~8,500 employees, manufacturing in 20+ countries, and a global customer portfolio. A UK PLC with head office located in Windsor, Berkshire UK.  Listed on London Stock Exchange; Member of the FTSE 250 Index.

This role is an opportunity to join a global, dynamic Hi-Tech team supporting a new greenfield manufacturing location in San Juan Del Rio, Mexico. We are the industry leader in development and manufacturing of engineered technical ceramics.

The ideal candidate will support the full scope of Human Resources responsibilities and partner with the organization on strategic initiatives as well as day to day HR tasks. The incumbent will be a hands-on HR manager with experience partnering with Site Leadership to build and grow an organization. This position will collaborate with our other San Juan Del Rio sites in ensuring a consistent approach to HR policies and practices.

This role will provide HR leadership and direction to achieve business objectives by administering, developing and implementing programs in the areas of, recruiting, employee relations, employee benefits, project management, compensation, communication, employee recognition, training, development and EHS programs.

Develops recruitment plans and recruits for hourly and salaried positions.

Manages employee transactions including hiring, terminations, discipline, and performance management, etc.

Develops programs to enhance employee engagement and offers employee support.

Implementation and continuous improvement in plant HR policies, procedures, and programs.

Mediator, counselor, and facilitator in resolving disputes between employees and their supervisors and managers.

Educates and trains supervisors and employees on policies, processes, and guidelines in alignment with the regional HR strategy.

Drives the Performance Management and Development process.

Manages and updates employee data and HR systems.

Prepares and processes various reports ensuring compliance with company and government regulations.

Supports overall Benefit program including health, life, Savings Funds, Pension Plans, and bonuses and food vouchers.

Supports the deployment of safety programs.

Develops and deploys the talent development and retention strategies for production employees.

Communicates and tracks corporate compliance programs.

Performs special projects, plans monthly Site employee recognition events and plays an active role in planning yearly HR Calendar of events such as Safety Week, Christmas Party, Mother’s Days etc.

Proactively seeks to understand business needs and propose proactive solutions for resolution and to drive continuous improvement

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree – in human resources management or related field preferred

5+ years of experience as an HR Manager within a manufacturing environment.

Bilingual (Spanish / English) required. Ability to speak English at an intermediate or above level required. Ability to clearly present ideas and reports in written and verbal format in English required.

Experience in managing HR projects for roll out such as time and attendance etc…

Experience coaching, leading, and developing others.

Exceptional interpersonal communication and relationship-building skill.

Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of Mexico local and federal employment, labor laws and employee benefit compliance requirements.

Be up to date on HR policies and procedures; on-going education in HR field to keep up with federal/state/local changes.

Must be able to maintain employee confidentiality. Must have experience with leading complex investigations. Must have experience is successfully resolving employee issues.

Must be proficient in Microsoft Office and have the ability to present data / ideas to Senior Leadership.

Must be able to partner with subordinates, peers, and leadership across all functions and externally.

Must be able to follow and adhere to all company policies including safety, ethics, compliance, sexual harassment, discrimination, and general employee policies.

Excellent communication skills and demonstrated teamwork and leadership abilities are required.

Occasionally perform tasks not described in this job description to meet the requirements of this position
