Overview:
The Physician Assistant will work with the Neurosurgery practice on all aspects of patient care including evaluation, diagnosis and education. This includes the inpatient, outpatient, and surgical setting. The candidate must be able to work independently in a clinical setting. Experience preferred in a neurosurgery or orthopedics practice. Must be willing to travel to off sites.
Responsibilities:
Conduct patient evaluations, including taking medical histories and performing physical examinations
Develop and implement patient treatment plans in collaboration with the neurosurgeons
Order and interpret diagnostic tests (e.g., X-rays, MRIs, blood tests)
Provide preoperative and postoperative care, including patient education and follow-up
Assist with procedures and surgeries in the operating room
Maintain accurate and detailed surgical records
Document patient interactions and treatment plans in electronic health records
Qualifications:
Must be the graduate from an accredited Physician Assistant program with Board certification or eligibility.
Neurosurgery or orthopedic experience is desirable, but not required.
Must possess Current State Licensure.
Must obtain CPR Certification within six (6) months of hire.
