Overview:

We are seeking a full-time IT Software Engineer Intern in our Olathe, KS location. In this role, you will be responsible for learning and training to become an Application Developer who designs, develops, and maintains software applications with Garmin’s Information Technology department and will work in one of the IT department software development groups.

Responsibilities:

Essential Functions

Learn to design/develop web-enabled client-side and server-side applications as part of a structured Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC) process

Learn to create enterprise software in support of Garmin’s ERP or web-based applications

Learn to maintain, improve, and extend existing software

Learn to work with analysts and users to design required software systems

Learn to work with analysts to develop/implement unit and system testing processes

Provide support to helpdesk on escalated problems and issues

Qualifications:

Basic Qualifications

Pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems or equivalent experience

Excellent academics (cumulative GPA greater than or equal to 3.0 as a general rule)

Demonstrated strong and effective verbal and written communication skills

Relevant experience and/or training

Other education and/or experiences as required for the specific projects being developed

Desired Qualifications

Outstanding academics (cumulative GPA greater than or equal to 3.5)

Previous experience working in a team environment
