Do you excel at the forefront of cybersecurity, defending critical information against malicious entities? Master Electronics is growing and so is our Cyber Security team. We are looking to add a Cyber Security Engineer to our team based in Phoenix, AZ.

This position is primarily office-based, with potential for hybrid work.

What you will do?:

Design and Implement Security Solutions: Develop and deploy security systems and infrastructure, including firewalls, encryption, intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS), and other cybersecurity measures

Vulnerability Assessment: Conduct regular vulnerability assessments and penetration tests to identify potential security risks and recommend corrective actions

Security Monitoring: Monitor network traffic for unusual activity, investigate incidents, and take immediate action to mitigate risks. Implement and manage SIEM (Security Information and Event Management) tools

Incident Response: Develop and implement incident response plans, lead investigations during security breaches, and ensure effective resolution

Security Compliance: Ensure that the organization adheres to relevant cybersecurity laws, regulations, and standards (e.g., CMMC 2.0, NIST, ISO 27001 and SOC 2). Conduct audits and provide compliance reports

Collaboration and Training: Work with IT teams to integrate security best practices into all aspects of the organization's technology. Conduct security awareness training for staff to minimize human risk factors

Documentation: Maintain up-to-date documentation of all security-related activities, including configurations, processes, and incident

Security Policy Development: Develop, update, and enforce the organization’s cybersecurity policies and procedures

What you bring to the table!:

Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Security, or a related field

A master’s degree or equivalent work experience is a plus

Three to Five (3-5) years of experience in cybersecurity, with a strong understanding of security protocols, cryptography, authentication, authorization, and security best practices

Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CEH, CompTIA Security+, or equivalent is highly desirable

Proficiency with security technologies such as firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS, anti-virus, and encryption tools

Experience with SIEM tools like Splunk, CrowdStrike or AlienVault

Knowledge of network protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP/S) and OSI model

Familiarity with cloud security practices (e.g., AWS, Azure)

Proficient in scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash) for automating security tasks.

Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities

Excellent communication skills to explain complex security concepts to non-technical stakeholders

Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining confidentiality
