Job Overview:
Shriners Children's is the premier pediatric burn, orthopaedic, spinal cord injury, cleft lip and palate, and pediatric subspecialties medical center. We have an opportunity for a Marketing & Communications Coordinator at our Lexington, KY facility.
The Marketing & Communications Coordinator provides a wide range of MarCom functions and support to facility leadership and the MarCom Director including, but not limited to, writing, editing, digital content creation and strategy, internal and external communications, and reports to leadership.
Responsibilities:
Strategic Communications
Write and post content for SC website, location intranet and social media channels
Research, create and write patient stories and other content to support marketing, donor relations and business development
Create digital content including video needed to execute location- and system-wide strategy
Develop content for and design monthly newsletters for our internal and external audiences
Assist Director with internal communications where applicable
Organize and facilitate hospital tours related to Marcom events and programs
Follow AP style and SC identity standards
Research, write and distribute press releases and media advisories.
Collaborative Communications
Encourage enthusiasm, positive morale and teamwork among employees
Work with other departments and medical staff to solicit stories
Acts as media escort within facility
Assist Director with Shriners International temple relations
Coordinate facility special events such as public celebrations, annual events, celebrity and VIP visits and others as requested
Manage and maintain patient ambassador program
Ensure confidentiality and patient privacy during tours, events and media visits
Present to Shriners International temples, community organizations or groups when assigned or necessary
Travel as needed to attend meetings or represent SC at community, temple or fundraising events.
Departmental and Organizational Support
Provide reports on department activity and progress toward goals
Manage multiple projects and work independently
Colloborate with colleagues across the system on content creation and MarCom projects as needed
Upload photos, videos and consents to Digital Assets Management system
Research media outlets and maintain current media contact list, using media monitoring platform
General office duties including, but not limited to, answering phones, filing, inventory of marketing collateral, meeting minutes
Qualifications:
Experience:
3 years of marketing/communications/public relations experience required
Writing, storytelling and editing experience required
Professional-setting social media content creation experience required
Ability to manage multiple projects required
MS Office Suite proficiency required
Salesforce Marketing Cloud/email marketing experience preferred
Media relations and community engagement experience preferred
Adobe Creative Cloud and graphic design knowledge preferred
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism or related field required
