Job Overview:

The Physical Therapist (PT) provides evaluation and therapy services, including direct patient care, patient/family education and transition of care, in an efficient, age-appropriate, and culturally sensitive manner upon licensed independent practitioner referral.  This newly approved additional position is a Monday-Friday, no holidays/weekends at Shriners Children's New England clinic.

Providing pediatric specialty care in western Massachusetts for nearly 100 years

Families from throughout New England, as well as New York state and beyond, choose Shriners Children's New England for its expertise in orthopedic, neuromuscular, cleft lip and palate and urologic specialty care for children.

Services include outpatient appointments, surgery, orthotics and prosthetics, radiology, 3D motion analysis, physical, occupational and speech therapies.

Responsibilities:

Provides comprehensive compliant and safe clinical care demonstrating the philosophy of family centered care, a commitment to the achievement of optimal patient outcomes in alignment with the standards of practice of their professional organization. 

Works with medical staff and the multidisciplinary team to design and implement individualized plans of care to meet the needs of the pediatric patients and their family.

Functions as a team member and develops leadership skills through activities such as: mentoring, and providing education to students and other professionals.

Supports the ongoing development and improvement of the department through participation in special projects, performance improvement and facility committees.

Responsible for professional growth and development through ongoing education and research in alignment with hospital’s patient care and strategic direction.

Responsible for maintaining current knowledge in changes related to scope of practice, coding/billing practices, compliant documentation and any other knowledge related to the compliant practice in a revenue cycle environment.

Qualifications:

Required:

Education necessary to obtain License in State of Practice

Physical Therapy (PT) License in state of practice (required)

CPR/BLS (required)

Preferred 

1 year of Physical Therapy (PT) experience preferred  (new graduates welcome to apply). 

Pediatric Physical Therapy experience preferred, but nnot required.
