At CableCom, as a Coax Splicer, you’ll splice, test, and repair cables & wires in both indoor and outdoor settings, read, create and maintain splicing diagrams, maintain activities surrounding the assigned work site(s), and take splicing field notes.

What you’ll do as a Coax Splicer
Performs tasks associated with the electronic upgrade and splicing of cable
Test, activate, and troubleshoot equipment after installation
Basic daily maintenance of provided vehicle: check fluids, clean and organize vehicle
Self-supervise all operations to ensure that all splicing operations are completed in accordance with customer and industry specifications
Safely operate and use bucket truck to complete daily construction assignments as needed (potentially climb poles)
Complete daily production reports, mark-up maps, keep track of work hours, complete "as-built maps" for areas built and track daily production
Reconcile all issued parts and materials on a daily basis to ensure accurate material usage counts
Frequently work independently
Other splicing related duties as assigned

What you’ll need
To be 18 years of age or older
Authorization to work in the United States for this company
Ability to distinguish colors
A high school diploma or equivalent
A valid driver’s license (class "C" minimum) or be eligible and willing to obtain the required license for the position (possibly class "B" - light commercial)
Ability to pass a DOT physical exam, resulting in a valid medical card
Additional qualifications
Ability to read and build from blueprints and/or wire diagrams
Certified pole climber or capable of demonstrating proficiency as a pole climber
OSP telecommunication construction experience; cable experience
Experience in splicing, balancing, and documenting CATV systems
Physical abilities & exposures
Routinely: Must be able to lift/carry 50 lbs regularly and up to 100 lbs as needed with or without assistance. Must be able to work in all weather conditions
Occasionally: Must be able to work nights and weekends, if necessary
