About the Role:
The Accountant performs entry-level accounting functions such as general ledger maintenance, preparation of basic journal entries, and aides in the preparation of financial reports from standard financial data in a timely manner. The Accountant I researches and reconciles discrepancies related to various financial data such as fixed asset data, and budgets, as well as issues related to balance sheet accounts. Assists in the preparation of basic audit support.

Essential Functions
Responsible for preparation of basic journal entries and workpapers
Analyze, reconcile, balances, and maintain accounting records in accordance with GAAP
Interact with Operations personnel regarding finance policies and procedures
Assist in audit activities
Maintain electronic accounting files and reports
Aide in the maintenance of both the general ledger and subsidiary ledgers
Prepare accounting workpapers
Participate in ad-hoc projects as necessary
Regular and predictable attendance
Other duties as assigned
Essential functions of this position are to be performed in a Company-designated office and an appropriate remote location consistent with Company policy
Understand and comply with the Company’s Code of Business Conduct and Ethics Policy and other industry-specific professional and ethical standards

This is an entry level position -- up to 2 years of experience
Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
Knowledge of standard accounting principles, methods, and applications
Proficient with Microsoft applications
Knowledge of standard accounting principles, methods and applications
Ability to analyze and interpret basic financial data and prepare standard financial reports and statements
Knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, and cost control procedures
Account balancing and reconciling skills
Ability to set-up and maintain financial accounts and ledgers
Excellent data entry, time management, and organizational skills
Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
Must be detail-oriented with exceptional interpersonal capabilities
What We Offer:
Compensation & Benefits
Salary $60,000 - $75,000 / yearCommensurate with experience, paid weekly. Posted salary ranges are made in good faith. MYR Group reserves the right to adjust ranges depending on the qualifications of the selected candidate.
Two days per week remote work option for non-field roles depending on position and performance.
