Responsibilities:
The Cardiac Catheterization Nurse III assists physicians during cardiac catheterizations, interventional procedures, pacemaker/ICD insertions, electrophysiology and other cardiovascular procedures by circulating, monitoring, and scrubbing for procedures
Qualifications:
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES, LICENSE OR CERTIFICATION REQUIRED
Must be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing and licensed as a RN in the State of Georgia in good standing without limitations.
Minimum of 2 years of full-time experience as a RN post-orientation or post-residency training.
Certified in American Heart Association’s Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS).
Certified in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS).
Minimum one (1) year experience in ICU, CCU, or Catheterization Lab.
Thorough knowledge of cardiac arrhythmia interpretation.
Please refer to the specific clinical unit for additional education, competencies and/or certification(s) required as a condition of employment.
KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES/LICENSE OR CERTIFICATION REQUIRED FOR PERCUTANEOUS CORONARY INTERVENTIONAL SERVICES
In addition to the above, the following is also required:
Minimum of two (2) years recent experience in interventional Cardiac Catheterization Lab or two (2) years’ experience in ICU, CCU, or Diagnostic Catheterization Lab and successful completion of Northside Hospitals’ comprehensive training program for coronary interventional Catheterization Lab under the direction of assigned preceptor within 6 months.
Must take emergent coronary interventional call (PCI & STEMI) with a 30-minute arrival time.
RN’s must become a Registered Cardiac Invasive Specialist (RCIS) within three (3) years from date of hire or transition.
KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES/LICENSE OR CERTIFICATION REQUIRED FOR ELECTROPHYSIOLOGY SERVICES
In addition to the primary duties, the following is required:
Minimum of two (2) years recent experience in Electrophysiology or two (2) years’ experience in ICU, CCU, or Diagnostic Catheterization Lab and successful completion of Northside Hospitals’ comprehensive training program for electrophysiology under the direction of assigned preceptor within 6 months.
