Overview:
Consider joining the Pennex family as a Supervisor, Quality at our Leetonia, OH location. The Supervisor, Quality is responsible for the quality controls and ensuring that products and services meet customer expectations and company standards. This position will enforce quality control policies, oversee the work of quality control inspectors, and review customer complaints. The Supervisor, Quality will champion the quality processes for the plant to ensure we are meeting and exceeding customer expectations. This individual works independently with and for all departments of the plant.
Responsibilities:
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Supervises the Quality team to ensure the following processes/inspections are conducted independently:
Lead and direct quality assurance inspectors/technicians who are responsible for enforcing Good Manufacturing Practices and other quality-related policies in order to meet product quality standards
Proficient with measuring devices (tape rules, calipers, squares, protractors, micrometers) to inspect parts and verify that all dimensions are in tolerance according to customer requirements, print specifications or industry standards. Performs before and after dimensional checks
Oversee the “On Hold” product program, including the status, release, and destruction of “Rejected” products
Assist in investigating and correcting quality-related issues (including customer complaints) through collaboration with other departments
Make proactive recommendations and offering/presenting solutions to the Quality Systems & Regulatory Compliance Department Management to improve quality and work efficiency
Share knowledge, skills and information with other personnel in the Quality Systems & Regulatory Compliance Department and across functional areas
Assist in the implementation of policies, operating procedures, quality systems and programs which ensure proper testing, evaluation, inspection, and technical support in order to meet product quality standards. Test parts for hardness, physical and mechanical properties using Webster, Rockwell or Satec tensile testing equipment
Ensure good performance by quality assurance technicians/inspectors by mentoring, training, setting expectations, providing accountability, and performing evaluations.
Provides administrative support for quality team payroll
Assists in problem solving issues for customer job orders to eliminate damage while maintaining productivity standards
Assists in weekly, monthly, quarterly and yearly inventories
Maintains a neat, orderly work area and assists with general department housekeeping
Performs other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
Ideal Candidate Will Have:
Education
High school diploma/ GED Required
4 year college degree preferred
Experience
1 year or more experience supervising manufacturing operations in a quality type role
5 years work experience with 2-3 years relevant experience in a quality position
Other required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
GD&T Training
ISO / IATF Experience
ERP experience a plus
Six Sigma certification a plus
A desire to work in a fast-paced, hands-on manufacturing environment
Highly motivated, self-driven, and eager to learn and apply new skills
Attentive to details and follows through on assigned tasks and commitments
Flexible and driven to meet tight deadlines, handle multiple projects and prioritize them appropriately
Strong organizational skills, and ability to effectively disseminate information in a clear and concise manner
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations
