Overview:

The Accounts Payable Agent I will process the AIT's accounts payables in a timely manner. This role will prepare payments for expense vouchers and invoices, and completes payments and controls expenses by receiving, processing, verifying, and reconciling invoices.

Responsibilities:

Verify accuracy of invoices and schedules payments to vendors, customers, and creditors

Enter invoices and purchase orders into financial systems, obtains internal approval

Maintains historical records by filing documents with scanning department, and generate routine balance reports. Prepare and perform check runs

Verify vendor accounts by reconciling monthly statements and related transactions

Research and resolve invoice discrepancies and issues

Maintain vendors files and accounting documentation

Coordinate vendor's billing and collections activities. Handle their inquiries and negotiate with past-due accounts

Qualifications:

Education Qualifications

High School Diploma Required and

Associate's Degree Associates Degree or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or related field Preferred

Experience Qualifications

1+ years Work experience in accounting and/or knowledge of accounts payable and general accounting procedures Required and

3+ years Proficient in MS Word, Excel, CargoWise experience Preferred or

1+ years Knowledge of transportation industry and office experience Preferred

Skills and Abilities

Advanced in Microsoft Office, Outlook (High proficiency)

Strong problem solving skills with ability to develop new ideas and innovative solutions (High proficiency)

High attention to detail and accuracy (High proficiency)

Excellent communication skills both verbal and written (Medium proficiency)

Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume work environment (Medium proficiency)

Efficient time management/organization skills (Medium proficiency)

Ability to work on multiple tasks simultaneously in a professional and concise manner (Medium proficiency)

Excellent analytical, problem solving and decision making skills (Medium proficiency)

Demonstrates a sense of urgency and ability to meet deadlines (Medium proficiency)
