Overview:
The Post Oak Hotel is seeking a Restaurant Events Coordinator to join the only double Forbes Five-Star Hotel in Texas. We hire passionate and professional colleagues who genuinely delight our guests through curated and authentic experiences.
The Restaurant Events Coordinator will be responsible for booking, planning and executing functions in all Food & Beverage outlets and private dining spaces while giving each guest a positive, memorable experience creating an atmosphere that makes our guests want to return.
Responsibilities:
Approach all encounters with guests and associates in an attentive, friendly, courteous and service-oriented manner
Know outlet seating arrangements and capabilities
Re-solicit past local accounts, generate new business
Meet and greet in-house guests upon arrival, review the course of events and introduce other staff members (restaurant managers and servers)
Develop menus and agendas, ensure REO’s are issued according to department SOP’s, and complete all pertinent correspondence with culinary team for event execution success
Maintain current hotel information and be able to provide hotel amenities information to all guests inquiring
Handle inquiry calls and outside sales calls. Follow through to completion of function(s)
Maintain pricing integrity and propose upscale menus for all groups; Interact with outside vendors as requested with clients
Work with F&B managers and keep them informed of F&B outlet events and ensure event does not conflict with ongoing outlet business levels
Qualifications:

At least 4 years of previous food and beverage experience and/or as a coordinator or event service team member
Excellent interpersonal, organizational and communication skills including professional email and phone etiquette
Proficient in Microsoft office applications; ability to learn new systems as required
Previous hotel experience, luxury or Forbes experience preferred
Ability to work flexible schedules, including nights, weekends and holidays is required
Physical demands: Ability to lift 25 pounds on a regular basis and prolonged extended periods of standing.
