Overview:
Full Time Position
Monday-Friday
8am-4:30pm
Responsible for preventative and corrective maintenance required to maintain the physical structure and equipment in the most reliable and economical operating condition. Has extensive knowledge of hospital mechanical systems. Ability to work independently. Responds quickly to any internal disaster and takes charge at the scene until relieved by competent authority. Responsible for entering data and documenting all required Regulatory inspections as assigned.
Qualifications:
Required Education:
High School Diploma or GED.
Necessary Skills:
1. Ability to work well with all levels of staff personnel.
2. Ability to communicate in a professional manner.
3. Ability to perform computer skills using MicroSoft based programs.
4. Ability to navigate and work within the Facilities Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
5. Ability to work independently without supervision.
6. Must have extensive knowledge of common mechanical tools and test equipment used by maintenance personnel.
7. Must have knowledge of and abide by general safety procedures and regulations.
8. Ability to read blueprints, schematic diagrams and drawings.
9. Interpret instructions and prepare simple specifications.
10. Must have extensive knowledge of plumbing systems, including compressed gas, potable water, drain-waste-vent systems, steam and condensate systems, electrical generation, distribution and utilization systems and equipment. Also, heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems, both central and package type systems.
11. Must be able to troubleshoot, identify and repair various mechanical equipment without assistance.
12. Must be willing to respond to emergency calls on off-duty hours
Required Licensure/Certifications:
Active Journeyman's License in Electrical, Plumbing, HVAC or equivalent required.
Required Experience:
Over five (5+) years experience in electrical, plumbing and HVAC maintenance experience.
Preferred Experience:
Over ten (10+) years experience in hospital mechanical maintenance work.
