Overview:

The     Community Engagement Coordinator plays an essential role in fostering relationships between the organization and corporate, individual, and community volunteers by implementing meaningful initiatives that promote interaction, participation, and support of the organization’s mission and designing mutually beneficial programs and events that encourage involvement and collaboration. The incumbent aims to positively impact the needs of the patients, families and students of Kennedy Krieger; enhance the organization’s presence within the community; ensure that relationships are nurtured; and that the organization remains responsive and relevant to the people it serves.

Responsibilities:

1. Coordinate all volunteer activities for the Institute, to include maintaining a calendar of events, overseeing the registration process, providing guidelines, and maintaining regular correspondence with the group.

2. Partner with the Engagement team to develop and implement strategies for volunteer recruitment and retention to ensure adequate support of programs and events.

3. Assess volunteer information and prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual reports on volunteer activity and hours.

4. Gather and analyze feedback from volunteers to assess the impact of their engagement with the organization and identify areas for improvement.

5. Work with the Philanthropy team to send acknowledgements and steward both volunteers and inkind donors.

6. Maintain an internal online portal to track in-take and distribution of all in-kind donations to the Institute.

7. Build and maintain relationships with community members, local organizations, stakeholders, and partners to foster collaboration and support.

8. Work with the Marketing team to promote volunteer events/initiatives, distribute promotional materials, and effectively communicate events and programs to the community.

9. Communicate with internal departments and programs to understand their individual needs and cultivate support.

10. Work closely with the Special Events team to recruit and manage volunteers for Institute events.

11. Assist with the planning and preparation of engagement activities for employees, patients, and families as needed.

12. Answering emails and phone calls in a prompt, helpful, and professional manner while ensuring that all inquiries are triaged in an appropriate manner.

13. Assist with the ordering and maintenance of supplies needed for community engagement activities.

Qualifications:

EDUCATION:

• High School diploma or equivalent required.

• Associate’s degree preferred.

EXPERIENCE:

Minimum two years of previous experience related experience coordinating multiple tasks/priorities is required.
