Our growing company is looking to add Production Operators at our Hazel Park facility! As a Production Operator at MEC, you will set-up, adjust and operate several production machine tools where tooling, setup detail and operating procedures are standardized and obvious- or operate and maintain setups on special purpose machines where operations may involve several progressive machining sequences. Generally close tolerance work where dimensional and finish requirements are not difficult to maintain due to nature of tooling and machine setups. Work usually repetitive and subject to process inspection. May be required to read part drawings and use adjustable, direct reading and fixed gauges to check work. Requires a fundamental knowledge of machine shop operations as acquired by short job training and experience.

Responsibilities:

Essential duties and responsibilities include the following:

Loading and/or unloading parts on conveyor

Loading and/or unloading parts into press break

Loading and/or unloading parts into tube bender

Part inspection

Packaging of parts

Light assembly

Housekeeping

Material handling

Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

Skill and education requirements:

Prior manufacturing plant experience is preferred

Attention to detail is a must

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables in situations where limited standardization exists

Ability to interpret a variety of instructions, furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form

Necessary attributes:

Consistently meets and exceeds expectations

Requires minimal supervision

Focused on what is best for the company

Ability to meet deadlines

Proactive

Ability to work independently

Team player with a "can-do" attitude

Physical attributes:

Stand for 8+ hours a day

Lift up to 40 pounds regularly
