Overview:
At FutureCare, our Laundry Aides work in an efficient manner to meet facility needs, deliver outstanding service and performance in our laundry departmemt. They are responsible for ensuring that the linens in the facility are kept clean and sanitized, while meeting all standards set forth for the Environmental Services department.

Responsibilities:
Follow oral and written instructions
Follow material safety data sheets (MSDS)
Follow schedule for laundry department
Adjust water temperature valves to maintain required temperatures
Handle clean and soiled laundry appropriately
Identify and report garments or linens in ill repair to supervisor
Collect soiled laundry
Sort laundry and linens and ensure they are washed in the proper cycle
Follow proper cleaning and infection control procedures to ensure sanitary conditions
Distribute neat, clean laundry and personal resident clothing
Keep equipment and work areas clean
Abides by the standards identified in FutureCare’s Statement of Corporate Ethics and the Corporate Compliance Plan
Qualifications:
High School education or GED
A minimum of one (1) year housekeeping experience in a long- term care setting preferred
Must have general knowledge of laundry systems critical to safety and welfare
Ability to read, write and follow oral written instructions
Must be able to push, pull or lift a minimum of 25 pounds and a maxium of 50 pounds with assistance, such as carts, laundry bags, and linens
Strenous pulling while unloading wshers, dryers, repetitive motions
May be required to wear a safety belt
