Overview:

Provides engineering support to the midstream organization for the planning, design, cost estimating, construction, and operation of natural gas and liquid midstream assets, including pipelines, measurement, dehydration, compression, treating, processing, and condensate handling facilities.

Responsibilities:

Plans pipeline systems and facilities to accommodate existing and future production including hydraulic analysis and capacity calculations.

Designs natural gas and liquid system assets and components including pipelines, compression, treating, processing, and condensate handling facilities.

Provides cost estimates, AFE requests, and major equipment procurement for pipeline and facility projects.

Provides engineering support to and in coordination with field operations, production construction, operations, commercial, regulatory, accounting, and right-of-way teams.

Develops, investigates and makes recommendations to improve operational and construction efficiencies, processes, and procedures.

Improves knowledge of existing and new midstream technology and applies to infrastructure as appropriate.

Qualifications:

Basic Qualifications:                            

Bachelor's degree (B.S.) in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering or closely related engineering discipline from a four-year accredited college or university and zero to five years related experience.

Language Skills                                            

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.  Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.  Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

Mathematical Skills                                                  

Ability to apply mathematical concepts such as exponents, logarithms, quadratic equations, and permutations.  Ability to apply mathematical operations to such tasks as frequency distribution, determination of test reliability and validity, analysis of variance, correlation techniques, sampling theory, and factor analysis.

Reasoning Ability                                                     

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.  Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

Computer Skills                                            

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft Office, pipeline hydraulic simulator software (PipeSIM and Synergee), gas processing software, Visio, mapping software (Google Earth and ArcGIS), and Enertia.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

Professional Engineer license is preferred.

Other Skills and Abilities                                                     

Excellent analytical, forward thinking and creative problem-solving skills.

Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Strong time management and organizational skills.

Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced team environment.

Other Qualifications:

Bilingual in English and Spanish is preferred.

Experience and familiarity with both natural gas and liquid midstream assets and operations (pipelines, measurement, compression, dehydration, treating, processing, pumps, etc.), applicable codes and regulations, industry standards and best practices, station lay-outs, piping plans, process flow diagrams, piping and instrumentation diagrams, pipeline alignment sheets, pipeline integrity management, class location determinations, and construction methods.

Construction experience is a plus.
