Overview:
The Person In Charge oversees the entire store, ensuring that all PCC policies and procedures are followed. They provide and model excellent, professional customer service. They supervise the front end, overseeing the schedule and job responsibilities of Cashiers, Helper Clerks, Courtesy Clerks and other staff. They protect the safety of staff and customers and security of PCC property.

Main Job Responsibilities:
Models and provides excellent, professional customer service
Oversees the entire store ensuring that all PCC policies and procedures are followed
Supervises the frontend; oversees the scheduling and job responsibilities of Cashiers, Grocery Helper Clerks, Courtesy Clerks and other grocery staff
Provides support, training, and coaching to staff
Handles security issues carefully and responsibly
Maintains orderly appearance of register area and ensures department sanitation cleanliness and safety standards are met
Protects the safety of staff and customers and the security of PCC property
Handles daily use and any problems with equipment properly and ensures adherence to store standards
Cashiers when needed
Closing PIC’s are responsible for counting down tills and other tasks as required
Ensures department sanitation, cleanliness and safety standards are met
Qualifications and Skills:
Proven ability to provide excellent, professional customer service
Available to work closing shifts, including weekends
Excellent leadership, teambuilding, and communication skills
Ability to quickly assess situations and think of creative solutions
Ability to operate an electronic register – must demonstrate basic math skills, ability to handle money accurately, and be proficient at 10-key
Excellent attention to detail, multitasking skills, and organizational skills required
Previous retail or public customer contact experience and background in cashiering/retail grocery industry required
Must be able to meet physical demands of position including standing, bending, twisting, repetitive motion, and lifting 10-40lbs regularly
A current Food Worker Card from the Washington State Department of Health is required
If hired into this role, a CPR/First Aid Certification is required (paid for by PCC)
Must be at least 18 years of age

Additional $1.25/hour Night Differential when applicable.

Outside of Seattle Stores (BV, BT, BR, ED, IS, KL, RD): .025 hours per hour worked (Includes Union and State Accrual Rates)
