The Opportunity ...:

This is where you come in!  We need people who can install, service, and maintain our equipment to keep it running at top operating efficiency.  To be successful in this position, you will need:

On a given day, you may:

This position will work in our customer facility located in Del Ray, CA.

This is a seasonal position, based on the schedule of our customer, typically operating from October to December.

Service and maintain JBT machinery and chemical systems in customer packinghouse.

Mix and test chemicals in the field to verify proper dilution and effectiveness.

Maintain and service all JBT chemical systems and machinery in customer packing houses on a routine basis to ensure that all equipment and systems are functioning properly and are in good repair as determined by management.

Develop effective relationships with packinghouse personnel and management.

Maintain proper records of chemical use at packinghouses to assure machinery down time is kept to a minimum.

Responsible for inventory cost control and summer repair parts list while maintaining proper inventory of leased machinery parts and chemical use at packinghouses to assure machinery down time and customer complaints are kept to a minimum

Work with Technical Service to ensure proper application of JBT chemicals

Complete checklists and fill in delivery log books for JBT requirements and food safety documentation

Possess the ability to fabricate, assemble and install Leased Machinery systems on an as needed basis.

Requirements for the role:

Mandatory:

High School Diploma or equivalent

Experience working on industrial machinery

Basic mechanical skills to maintain and troubleshoot equipment issues are required.

Willing to work out of town, out of state and overnight as required

Willing to work overtime including weekends as required

Able to work day or night shift as required

Preferred Requirements:

Technical School      

Electrical circuitry experience

Computer programming experience

PLC programming experience

Packing house operations experience 

Physical Requirements:

Must be physically capable of:

Working 8+ hours per day, up to 7 days per week for extended periods during the processing season

Working around moving industrial machinery and exposure to machinery noise, chemicals, and fumes from associated products

Lifting, pushing, pulling an average maximum weight of 50 lbs.

Sitting, standing, walking, reaching, climbing, squatting and stepping up/down from material handling equipment

Working in moderate cold to extreme heat

Using hand tools

COMPENSATION RANGE: $19.00-$21.00 per hour Compensation is determined on experience and skill. This job description is a general description of essential job functions.
