Responsibilities:

St. John Hopspital is curently hiring for a Per-Diem/PRN  Lab Courier for our Hospital Lab Team.  This position will be a few days per week, rotating weekends, varied hours.  Hours will increase and decrease depending on hospital needs.  Courier vehicle provided.  The laboratory courier performs timely delivery and pick up of laboratory and pathology specimens, reports, and supplies between  hospital facilities, medical offices, and other designated patient service centers. Demonstrate excellent customer service to clients, physicians, office and lab personel at all times.   Other tasks or responsibilities may be assigned by the department manager/director.

This is a great opportunity for students in college to get their foot in the door into the hospital setting, or for a retiree wanting to pick up some work hours. 

This is a PRN / Per Diem/ Hours as needed position

Day/Evening Hours

Some weekends required

Approx 2 shift per week

PRN Courier fills in for other couriers as needed

8 hour shifts

Must be High School Graduate or equivalent

Drivers License Required

Excellent Driving record needed

Company vehicle provided

Qualifications:

Education and Work Experience

1. Required valid state Driver’s License with an excellent driving record.

2. High School Diploma or Equivalent required

3.OSHA/DOT/IATA certification for diagnostic specimen packaging and shipping one time every 3 years and maintain updated.

4.Blood borne pathogen and Chemical safety annual class requirements.
