POSITION SUMMARY 

We have an immediate opening for a Mechanical Engineer with experience in plastics film, foam molding, lamination and profile extrusion, equipment design, capital project management and automation. Rapidly growing company, diversifying product line and production increasing assets.   This position requires a person who is able to take projects from initial design, fabrication of lines, implementing automation, installation management and assist in process line startup.    

Qualifications:

QUALIFICATIONS & COMPETENCY REQUIREMENTS 

Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or in a related field 

5 to 10 years experience in project management of plastic production equipment and systems. 

Excellent math skills: ability to apply advanced mathematical principles and statistics to solve problems 

Experience using CAD software such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar 

Exceptional technical and problem-solving skills and reasoning ability 

Ability to communicate effectively and clearly 

Must be self-motivated and a great team worker 

WORK EXPERIENCE 

5-10 years of experience working in engineering 

JOB TYPE-FULL TIME 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS 

Sit/stand/walk 8-10 hrs./day 

Ability to lift 50 lbs.

Responsibilities:

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES 

Plan, conceptualize, and create mechanical designs for new production equipment and processes. 

Project Management Design, fabrication, installation, and support startup 

Work with vendors, contractors, and internal team members 

Lead Automation transformation at Impact Guard Custom automation 

Robotics, CNC, etc. 

Automated QC Systems 

Safety Improvements 

Create and review technical drawings, plans, and specifications using computer software 

Collaborate with multi-disciplinary engineering teams.  

Perform detailed documentation to track project development and design process. 

Ensure project timeline is met and project stays within budget
