Position Summary:

The Manager, IT Solutions Engineering is responsible for overseeing the development, installation, testing, modification, evaluation,design and implementation of all infrastructure supporting the Enterprise-wide network advanced services (DNS/DHCP, Remote Access, Compute Systems, Virtualization, Storage and Network). This key leadership role is accountable for developing the product strategy and roadmaps through collaboration with other infrastructure areas, peers in the product area, and directly from the Architecture group.

The Manager, IT Solutions Engineering will lead team members directly and indirectly to define the related architecture, designs, technology/vendor selection, and deployment of solutions. Responsibilities include; collecting requirements, identifying technologies,

developing projects, prioritizing activities and supporting transition of these solutions into operations across all Orlando Health functions.

Responsibilities:

Main Functions

Strategic Cloud Architecture Leadership: Guide the design and implementation of cloud infrastructure, ensuring alignment with business goals, scalability, and security, while leading a team of cloud engineers and architects.

Advanced Identity and Access Management (IAM) Strategy: Develop and oversee IAM strategies, ensuring robust user authentication, authorization, and SSO across the organization, with a focus on governance and compliance.

Financial Modeling and Cost Optimization: Expertise in creating financial models to compare cloud workloads with on-premise solutions, driving cost optimization, and making informed decisions on cloud investments.

Automation, Innovation, and Efficiency: Lead initiatives to automate cloud and on-prem operations and identity management processes.

Executive Communication and Cross-Functional Collaboration: Strong leadership in communicating cloud and identity strategies to executive stakeholders, and collaborating effectively with IT, finance, and business units to align technology investments with business objectives.

Essential Functions

Manages and leads teams to achieve organizational goals.

Acts as a technology solutions leader and change agent, working with key stakeholders, gather requirements, select vendors/providers, design end-to-end solutions, and oversee timely implementation in collaboration with Products and PMO teams to align with strategic imperatives, business needs and Orlando Health goals.

Aligns with governance processes and work efforts with key stakeholders in the business and IT to ensure effective prioritization of initiatives.

Recruits, develops, retains and inspires a talented team of IT specialists in all required disciplines.

Encourages staff empowerment, maintains an open door and fosters cross-team and department collaboration.

Builds and maintains relationships with all IT units to ensure that IT-delivered services and end-user productivity goals are understood and exceeded.

Mentors team members to constantly improve their capabilities and performance.

Addresses staff related concerns and issues in a timely and consistent manner.

Manages technical resource capacity and allocation.

Prepares cost analysis, budget plans and proposals as needed.

Monitors and provides oversight and hands-on guidance when needed, to resolve escalated IT issues

Ensures visibility of issue resolution and mitigation plans and status to all stakeholders.

Provides analysis and evaluation of systems, processes, and workflow to ensure achievement of positive patient outcomes.

Communicates decisions, priorities and relevant project information to staff regarding services requests, projects and initiatives.

Advises on the implementation or support of products in support of strategic and tactical.

Partners managers and subject matter experts to translate needs to functional requirements, then subsequently to technical requirements and specifications.

Ensures IT Solutions teams provide effective second and/or third level of technical support to assist the IT Operations team in effectively supporting and maintain mission critical information systems.

Effectively participates in the initiation/planning process for new business requests. Collaborates with stakeholders to drive proactive engagement to ensure that future technology requirements are understood as well as capacity management of the infrastructure. Develops budget and tracks financial forecasts throughout the product life cycle; include business cases, SBARs, proformas and project charters.

Assists stakeholders by guiding key initiatives through the defined phases of managerial assessment and approval.

Provides complex analysis and evaluation of systems, processes and workflows to ensure corporate system needs are met in a cost effective and timely manner.

Maintains reasonably regular, punctual attendance consistent with Orlando Health policies, the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards.

Maintains compliance with all Orlando Health policies and procedures.

Other Related Functions

The IT Manager manages activities related to and in compliance with HIPAA and privacy regulations.

Maintains current knowledge of HIPAA, privacy and confidentiality standards to ensure both vendor and internally developed software are compliant

Qualifications:

Education/Training

Bachelor’s degree in a related field of study.

Licensure/Certification

ITIL Essentials certification required.

Experience

A minimum of five (5) years of information technology experience, including three (3) years of experience serving in data center consolidation, migration, and decommissioning function’s information needs.

A minimum of three (3) years of leadership experience.
