Responsibilities:
SURGERY SCHEDULING CLINICAL COORDINATOR
Oversees the scheduling of procedural appointments within the hospital system, including Surgical Services, GI, Labor and Delivery, and Ancillary Services requiring anesthesia services to ensure the accurate and complete booking of appointments
Strategically reviews daily surgical schedule for clinical and operational accuracy and efficiency
Maintains a close working relationship with physician offices and hospital clinical team leaders and directors to schedule cases appropriately
Evaluates clinical information obtained to determine the correct procedure(s) and ensures instruments and equipment are documented when requested by the office or physician
Functions as a liaison between facility, provider, and anesthesia to ensure optimal use of all resources
Works with pre-surgical assessment team to ensure patients are scheduled in appropriate locations based on patient exclusionary criteria
Acts as the department resource for staff operational and clinical questions along with addressing escalated issues regarding the surgery schedule
Works in conjunction with the Surgery Scheduling Clinician and other departmental leaders to train schedulers via in-services and through the training manual
Committed to providing prompt, efficient customer service to internal and external customers
The ability to retrieve, communicate or otherwise present information in a written, auditory, or visual fashion
Other duties may be assigned when needed
Self -directed and functions as a team member
Qualifications:
KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES/LICENSE OR CERTIFICATION REQUIRED: SURGERY SCHEDULING
Graduate from an accredited school of nursing and licensed in the state of Georgia.
Demonstrated proficiency in skills applicable to designated area within probationary period.
Four (4) years of experience in nursing, with minimum of two (2) years in area of specialty.
Demonstrated ability to set priorities, coordinates diversified and multiple activities, and make appropriate clinical and managerial decisions. Must possess advanced problem solving skills.
Successful completion of a management course prior to appointment, or within six (6) months of employment.
CPR certification not required.
Work Hours::
8am-4pm
