Responsibilities:

Performs a variety of housekeeping duties that may include dusting, washing, and disinfection furniture, fixtures and equipment; sweeping and mopping floors; vacuuming floors; gathering and disposing of refuse; arranging furniture; and performing similar tasks.

Demonstrates the UnityPoint Health Values and Standards of Behaviors as well as adheres to policies and procedures and safety guidelines.

Demonstrates ability to meet business needs of department with regular, reliable attendance. Maintains current licenses and/or certifications required for the position.

Practices and reflects knowledge of HIPAA, TJC, DNV, OSHA and other federal/state regulatory agencies guiding healthcare.

Comletes all annual education and competency requirements within the calendar year.

Is knowledgeable of hospital and department compliance requirements for federally funded healthcare programs (e.g. Medicare and Medicaid) regarding fraud, waste and abuse.

Brings any questions regarding compliance to the immediate attention of hospital administrative staff.

Takes appropriate action on concerns reported by department staff related to compliance.

Qualifications:

Experience:

Previous housekeeping experience preferred.

License(s)/Certification(s):

Valid driver’s license when driving any vehicle for work-related reasons.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

Must be able to read, write, and follow written and verbal instructions. 

Must have good communication skills to work with other team members and promote customer relations.

Must be able to communicate effectively with people of diverse professional, educational and lifestyle backgrounds.

The environment may cause high stress levels due to constant interruptions, high volume urgency of issues, and interactions with a wide variety of professionals and personalities.

Must be able to complete simple math computations.

Must be understanding and patient.

Ability to work under time constraints.

Must be able to work independently and assume responsibility for timely completing of assigned functions.

Ability to understand and deal effectively with problems and opportunities.

Ability to maintain confidential information.

Exercises sound judgement, seeking advice when appropriate.
