Major Position Responsibilities:
This position will be located at the new GD-OTS facility located in Mesquite, TX.
SUMMARY: Plans and implements the design, manufacture, installation and/or maintenance of electrical systems and apparatus, such as electric motors, machinery controls, lighting, wiring and power systems/devices, for the generation, transmission and control of electric power.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provides technical assistance and resolution when electrical or engineering problems are encountered before, during, and after manufacturing.
Assembles electrical and electronic systems and prototypes according to engineering data and knowledge of electrical principles, using hand tools and measuring instruments.
Collaborates with electrical engineers and other personnel to identify, define, and solve developmental problems.
Analyzes and interprets test information to resolve design-related problems.
Draws or modifies diagrams and writes engineering specifications to clarify design details and functional criteria of experimental electronics units.
Conducts inspections for quality control and assurance programs, reporting findings and recommendations.
May prepare project cost and work-time estimates.

Requires full proficiency in a range of technical processes or procedures through job-related training and considerable on-the-job experience
Completes a variety of atypical assignments
Works within defined technical processes and procedures or methodologies and may help determine the appropriate approach for new assignments
Works with a limited degree of supervision, with oversight focused only on complex new assignments
Acts as an informal resource for colleagues with less experience
Basic Qualifications:
Education and/or Experience
Vocational/Technical Training Degree
Equivalent Combination of Relevant Education and/or Experience
Preferred: Associate's Degree with Technical Training
5-7 years prior experience in a similar position.

Ability to understand and follow directions.
Design expertise.
Mathematical expertise
Electrical engineering
For Mesquite Operations:Knowledge of parametric and industrial control systems
Familar with OSHA Safety Standards and Regulations
In-Depth Knowledge of Hydraulic Systems and Schematics
In-Depth Knowledge of Siemens PLCs and Drives
Basic Computer and Report Writing Skills
Preferred
Experience with start ups, such as project planning, and establishing business processes, management systems, and work instructions is desired. This is an exciting opportunity to create the business processes, systems, and culture to stand up a high performing manufacturing operation.
Physical Demands
Requires regular movement throughout GD-OTS facilities.
May need to stand for long periods of time.
Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
Work may require employee to work inside and outside with exposure to changing climate and/or operate machinery.
