Responsibilities:

Works with minimal direction from a Medical Technologist; performs analysis of chemical, microscopic, bacteriologic or immunologic nature.

Occasionally supervises activities of phlebotomists and clerks. 

Occasionally serves as acting supervisor when assigned.

Reports to a Laboratory Manager or Supervisor. 

Receives general supervision from Pathologists, Director, Lead Medical Technologist, Technical Supervisors, Shift Supervisors, and Medical Technologists. 

Receives supervision in computer activities from the Specialist, Lab Information Systems.

Qualifications:

Education

Associate degree and Medical Lab Tech (MLT) or Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) certification with American Society of Clinical Pathologists (ASCP) or equivalent. 

Must meet the minimum requirements of the Clinical Laboratory Act of 1988.  

Experience

2 years preferred

(Above requirements can be met by equivalent combination of education and experience)

Licensure/Certification

Registered with ASCP (or eligible for registry) as a Medical Lab Tech or equivalent

Compensation/Benefits

$19.56-$43.71/hr depending on previous work experience.

Position qualifies for $3.00/hr night & $3.00/hr weekend shift differentials
