PURPOSE:

The Maintenance Technician is a member of a small core group of maintenance leaders that performs general maintenance and troubleshooting on plant equipment.  As a Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for supporting production teams and overall maintenance leadership for your assigned team.      

Responsibilities:

Must perform a wide range of general maintenance procedures on complex machinery, equipment, and facilities. In addition must have expertise in several maintenance areas, specializing in one or more of the following trades: Electrician, Electronics Technician, Machinist, Welder, Mechanic, HVAC or Millwright.

Must assist others to develop, implement and maintain preventive and predictive maintenance systems to assure reliability of equipment and support facilities.  Must demonstrate a high level of initiative and creativity in development of various maintenance systems and in the continuous improvement of equipment performance and reliability.

Must provide effective troubleshooting, maintenance and repair of both an electrical and mechanical nature to all machines, equipment and facilities, including complex control panels, electronic controls and mechanical breakdowns.

Must answer service calls, including occasional off shift emergency breakdowns.  Diagnose causes of malfunctions, make necessary repairs and adjustments, repair or replace defective parts, and reassemble and adjust equipment to proper operating condition.

Expected to possess and demonstrate the highest levels of technical skills, job management skills, initiative, commitment, creativity and teamwork.  Must be proactive in time management as to minimize the occurrence of line downtime for equipment related reasons.  This will at times require you by your own initiative to work overtime.     

Qualifications:

Four plus years of related experience and formalized technical training preferred. Minimal qualifications of 2 years of related experience or related technical training. 

Must perform well with limited to no direct supervision, and provide strong shift maintenance leadership.

While performing the duties of the job, the employee is regularly required to stand. The employee frequently is required to talk and hear.  The employee is occasionally required to walk, sit, use hands & fingers to handle or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with arms and hands; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel or crawl.

Must be flexible to include capable and willing to work any shift and answer emergency calls.  

Electrical training, knowledge and experience is highly desirable.
