Job Description
Administrative Items
Assist with day-to-day operations of the HR functions and duties.
Maintain HR-related databases, spreadsheets, and filing systems, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality of information to remain compliant with the Affirmative Action Plan (AAP).
Maintain and update confidential information related to pertinent employee records, including both hard copy and electronic records (personnel, medical, and training).
Support the recruiting process by screening resumes and scheduling interviews with candidates.
Compose and revise correspondence, reports, forms, and other information using acceptable business formats. Proofread the final copy for errors.
Respond to HR-related inquiries from employees, managers, and third parties promptly and professionally.
Ensure legal and internal postings are up to date.
Coordinate with outside vendors and suppliers regarding employee needs (uniform, shop towels, PPE machine access, etc.)
Create and update internal fliers, newsletters, and internal documents as needed.
Conduct audits and assessments to identify and address areas of improvement.
Support scheduling and implementing training programs and maintaining training compliance matrix to ensure compliance with ITW, safety, federal, state, and local guidelines.
Payroll
Serve as Business Unit Administrator (BU Admin).
Liaise with the Corporate Payroll Team on all payroll-related matters and escalate necessary information to appropriate team members.
Continuously monitor time and attendance to ensure seamless bi-weekly payroll processing. Review the attendance tracker for accuracy and create corrective action as policy dictates.
Ensure all requests (deductions/reimbursements) for payroll are accurately processed.
For accounting purposes, generate routine reports (payroll, HR metric, month-end, perfect attendance).
Onboarding & Orientation
Facilitate onboarding process, including meeting with new employees and facilitating their new hire paperwork and benefits enrollment.
Collaborate with hiring managers, safety trainers, quality trainers, and others involved at the time of hire to ensure a smooth onboarding process and a positive new hire experience.
Employee Relations
Address employee inquiries about benefits and other employee concerns. Escalate information to appropriate parties when needed.
Serve as Wellness Champion and lead bi-weekly to monthly wellness committee meetings to plan monthly events and activities for employees to participate in.
Organize company-wide events, including job fairs, holidays, employee celebrations, customer visits, and the annual United Way Campaign.
Complete other duties as assigned or directed.
