Job Description
SUMMARY OF POSITION
This position is for an individual that drives to maintain a safe work environment. The Individual will oversee safety operations, and enforce safety policies to ensure a safe work environment for employees and visitors.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
· Drives a safe work environment by driving safety focused culture and best practices, as well as ensuring compliance with federal, state and county agencies and regulations.
· Develops and maintains a strong communication with all departments with the goal of Zero incidents.
· Responds to incidents pertaining to safety and security and coordinates with emergency response personnel when an incident requires medical transport.
· Supports Safety and Operations with audits, mentoring, employee involvement, observations (Behavior Based Safety) and training, in order to maintain a safe work environment.
· Observes all good manufacturing practices as required.
SKILL REQUIREMENTS
Language skills
· Bilingual in Spanish/English
Mathematical skills
· Mechanical aptitude/basic skills
Technical skills
· Trainer level on OSHA Regulations
· Able to perform PDCA problem solving and execute implementation plans
· Implements health/safety educational programs or activities to improve awareness of safety and protection procedures
· Understands technical skills necessary for all tasks
Computer skills
· Word/Excel/PowerPoint/Internet
QUALIFICATIONS EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Preferred
1-2 years experience in safety, fire prevention, environmental health, industrial hygiene, or related field, which includes one year of supervisory experience.
· Communication skills in English – oral & written
· Computer skills – Word/Excel/PowerPoint/Internet
· Excellent Communication & Presentation skills
· Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety and Health
· Mechanical aptitude/basic skills
· EMT Training/Certification
· Behavioral Based Safety
