Job title: Cover Supervisor/Humanities Instructor

Location: Reddish Hall School, Stockport, Greater Manchester

Salary: £27,000 per annum

Hours: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday 8.00am - 4.00pm

Contract: Permanent, Term time only

Start date: November 2024

As part of our continued growth, we now have a fantastic opportunity for a Cover Supervisor/Humanities Instructor to join our close-knit team at Reddish Hall School located in Stockport.

About the role

The main purpose of the role is to provide high-quality and learning cover across the school, with a small allocation of delivering Humanities subjects on a regular basis. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading whole classes, managing challenging behaviours, and ensuring all pupils remain focused and on track to meet their lesson objectives.

This role is crucial in maintaining consistency and continuity of education for the pupils, particularly when teachers are absent or engaged in other school activities.

Essential

Excellent ability to engage and motivate pupils with complex needs, including SEMH and ASC.

Knowledge of curriculum subjects.

Strong behaviour management skill and the resilience to work with pupils who display challenging behaviours.

Flexible and adaptable approach, able to quickly adjust lessons and teaching strategies to meet the diverse needs of pupils.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills, able to build positive relationships with pupils, colleagues, and parents/carers.

Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of pupils.

Desirable

Experience working in a school setting, particularly with pupils who have special educational needs.

QTS (or equivalent), with relevant experience.

A relevant qualification in education or a related field (e.g., Teaching Assistant qualification).

Creativity and innovation in developing learning opportunities that are tailored to pupils’ interests and learning styles.
