Responsibilities:
As a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), your primary responsibility will be to provide basic care to patients under the supervision of a registered nurse (RN) or licensed practical nurse (LPN). You will play a crucial role in ensuring the comfort and wellbeing of patients by assisting with daily living activities, monitoring vital signs, and maintaining a clean and safe environment.
Responsibilities and Duties:
Assist patients with their personal hygiene, including bathing, grooming, and dressing.
Help patients with mobility by aiding in walking, transferring, and positioning.
Monitor patients' vital signs and report any changes or abnormalities to the nursing staff.
Assist in feeding patients and ensuring they receive adequate nutrition and hydration.
Collaborate with healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care to patients.
Respond to patient calls and provide them with emotional support and companionship.
Maintain a clean and organized environment by changing linens, tidying patient rooms, and replenishing supplies.
Document patient information and report any observed changes or concerns to the nursing staff.
Adhere to infection control and safety protocols to minimize risks and ensure the welfare of patients.
Assist in transporting patients to various departments within the healthcare facility as needed.
Qualifications:
Current NYS certification as a certified nursing assistant
Ability to adapt to changes in schedule and rotation to weekend schedule to meet resident needs.
Ability to deal tactfully with residents, families and other employees and cope with the physical and mental stress of the position.
Ability to understand and carry out directions and instructions.
Ability to report changes in resident’s condition and other pertinent information.
Ability to take and record information and basic records.
Knowledge of MS Office and able to learn new software rapidly.
