Bankruptcy Specialist

The Community Choice Financial® Family of Brands is seeking a Bankruptcy Specialist. As a Bankruptcy Specialist, be part of a sharp, dedicated, and proactive team that provides guidance in interpreting the laws and regulations governing our industry. Our Team Members stay up to date on areas of the law that could impact our organization and work daily to mitigate any potential or actual risks.  You’ll play an important role as a key contributor in areas including compliance, litigation, corporate initiatives, and other projects, allowing the team to provide the proper counsel for Company executives on business problems and solutions.

Responsibilities:

Serve as a subject matter expert regarding Chapter 13 and Chapter 7 consumer bankruptcies, including but not limited to, receive and validate new bankruptcy notifications and update customer accounts with the utmost integrity and accuracy.

Review incoming documentation daily for relevance and action necessary.

Complete and submit accurate Proof of Claims in a timely manner.

Maintain positive working relationships with Company management.

Offer input on risks and controls and ensure understanding of compliance requirements.

Assist with reporting of compliance analytical data to varying recipients, highlighting patterns and potential risks.

Conduct occasional inbound/outbound phone calls with consumers, legal representation, and third parties regarding bankruptcies.

Maintain the Group email inboxes.

Provide guidance on a wide variety of questions/issues from over 1000+ store locations by independently conducting investigations and responding to customer and product-related inquiries.

Ensure the protection of consumer PII by redacting sensitive personal information including by not limited to bank routing and account number, phone numbers, government issued identification number, and social security number from correspondence used to respond to various tasks.

Complete all compliance training assigned to understand the key provisions of law, regulations, and internal policies and procedures applicable to job duties, as well as the impact of non-compliance.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree OR the equivalent combination of formal education, training, and/or related experience with minimum 2+ years of experience as a Legal Assistant, Paralegal or Case Manager.

Experience interacting with individuals at many organizational levels, including senior management.
