‎ :

A successful Locator shall perform work that involves visual inspection of predefined construction areas and reading and interpretation of utility maps to determine the presence of underground utilities, while using special electronic equipment to actually detect and locate said utilities. At a minimum, the position requires the ability to read and interpret utility maps; operate different electronic detection equipment, to locate and mark under-ground facilities within prescribed accuracy limits; ability to use a computer, tablet, and other office related equipment; ability to read, understand, interpret, and input data.

In order to perform this job, you must demonstrate, either by training or experience:

the ability to work safely, with or without supervision

excellent manual dexterity

the ability to work with internal and external (field office) personnel in a professional and courteous manner

the ability to follow instructions and communicate verbally and in writing

the ability to travel within an assigned project area

the ability to operate utility locating equipment and understanding the functioning thereof

Responsibilities:

Completion of high level tasks in support of an assigned department/project

Completion of low level labor intensive tasks in support of an assigned department/project

Completion of daily production reports to document work performed

Read, interpret, and input data in support of an assigned department/project

Qualifications:

Prior work related experience

Proficient in the use of office hardware and software (PCs, Tablets, Printers, Copiers, Microsoft, Google, etc.)

Proficient in the use of hand tools and equipment (Wrenches, Drills, Ladders, Lanyards, Fork Lifts, Saws, etc.)

Authorized to work in the United States

Successful completion of pre-employment drug screen, background, and motor vehicle record check
