Survey Technician, Land Development
Westwood Professional Services, Inc.
Westwood Professional Services, Inc. is seeking a Survey Technician to join our team. This position will assist Registered Professional Surveyors with CAD production, deed research, boundary analysis, easement preparation, legal description, and computing survey points.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Assisting Registered Professional Surveyors with CAD production, deed research, boundary analysis, easement preparation, legal description, and computing survey points
Processing of raw field data through Trimble Business Center and Civil 3D
Perform QA/QC checks
Coordinate and work with field crews and other office staff
Ensures division, regional, and company values, policies and practices are consistently followed within the survey service.
Lead by example – display solid judgment, good values, trust, honesty, openness, and professionalism.
Required Skills:
Strong listening, writing and verbal communication skills.
Knowledge of ALTA surveys, boundary analysis, topographic surveys, preparation of easement documents, legal descriptions, final plat preparation, construction staking
Ability to operate AutoCAD Civil 3D and Trimble Business Center for production activities.
Ability to manage multiple tasks, support project coordination, and interact with other design services.
Full use of Microsoft Office.
Ability to perform in a fast-paced environment that is in a growth mode.
Preferred Experience:
An Associate Degree in Surveying, Engineering Technology, or related area of study
SIT Certification
Land Development, both Commercial and Residential, and Public Infrastructure Projects
Coordinating activities with office personnel, including surveying technicians and engineering staff
Experience searching for/recovering Public Land Survey System monuments
Ability to travel and remain on a project site or other Westwood office for extended periods
Processing and drafting utilizing LiDAR point clouds and imagery
TBC Scanning Module preferred
MicroStation experience preferred
Ability to utilize survey field equipment is preferred.
FAA Part 107 UAS License
Compensation Range Minimum:
USD $25.00/Hr.
Compensation Range Maximum:
USD $40.00/Hr.
