Who we are::
West Seattle Animal Hospital is looking to hire a caring veterinary assistant for our team. Our practice is dedicated to giving the best quality patient and client care possible. We strive to create a fear-free approach to patient care and a supportive environment for team members and clients. We're a busy, multi-doctor practice located in the heart of the West Seattle Junction. Our building is served by public transit and has free bicycle parking.
The job duties of the assistant include but are not limited to:
Assist veterinarians in exam rooms
Nurse appointments
Care of hospitalized patients
Safe patient restraint based on fear-free principles
Sample collection
Fluid therapy
Radiographs
Maintain patient records
Client education
Restocking, laundry, and light cleaning (we have a daily janitorial service)
Qualifications:
General pet care experience
Ability to handle stressful situations and maintain a positive attitude
Have general computer skills (typing, Microsoft Office, Google Chrome, email).
Ability to bend and kneel frequently and lift and hold large patients.
Though experience in a veterinary clinic is preferred, we do provide hands-on training to help enhance the skills you already possess.
