Overview:
Under close supervision, perform routine building maintenance tasks such as painting, minor plumbing, HVAC troubleshooting, and building inspections. Complies with established safety standards and maintenance schedules.
Responsibilities:
Tapes, floats, and texturizes sheetrock.
Hammers nails and stakes.
Uses tapes, transits, levels, etc. for measuring purposes.
Uses hand dollies to move furniture, including file cabinets, equipment, and other heavy office and clinic furniture.
Changes light bulbs and various fixtures.
Paints, varnishes, and seals walls, ceilings, floors, furniture, and equipment using various methods such as brushes, rollers, and air sprayers.
Installs and replaces floor and ceramic tiles.
Drives company and personal vehicles as needed, including trucks and pick-up trucks.
Replaces glass in doors and windows.
Performs unskilled carpentry work in the construction and repair of walls, ceilings, and other structural surfaces.
Repairs and replaces electric plugs and cords.
Operates electric tools including drills, buffers, grinders, sanders, power saws and radial arms.
Performs simple plumbing installations and repairs i.e. install/repair faucets, unclog drains, replace valves, etc.
Performs basic service on pumps, air handlers, cooling towers such as repacking, changing oil and filters, and lubricating.
Repairs and replaces door locks and knobs.
Must be able to participate in the “on call” rotation for the department, which involves weekends and after hours.
Performs other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
MINIMUM EDUCATION:
• High School Diploma or equivalent
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE:
• One (1) year of experience in general construction or building maintenance and repair work
REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURE:
• Texas Class "C" Driver's License
• Proof of automobile liability insurance coverage on personal vehicle utilized for work related purposes
REQUIRED COURSES/COMPLETIONS (e.g., CPR)
• OSHA 10 Hour Course completion within 6 months of hire date
