Health Economics Modelling Manager - Dublin, Ireland - Contract

My client a top global Pharmaceuticals company is currently looking to recruit a Health Economics Modelling Manager to join its team in Dublin on a contract basis. In this role we can consider full time or part time (3/4 days per week).

The Health Economics Modelling Manager will be responsible for the following:

As a Health Economic Modelling Manager, you will be the a global scientific lead of the in-house Health Economic Modelling Team. This team is responsible for designing and developing health economic models across a range of therapeutic areas, using recognized as well as innovative modelling methods, in order to effectively demonstrate the value of company brands across the world.

This is a highly visible role that offers exposure to the global Health Economics strategy of the business and access to primary data generated by the business, as well as proximity to other relevant scientific working groups eg medical communication, trial design, trial analysis, observational dataset analysis, market research, etc.

Responsibilities for the Health Economics Modelling Manager:

  • Shape and deliver the company Global Modelling strategy.
  • Lead economic assessments for products at all stages of development and launch, using cost effectiveness, cost utility, cost minimization, budget impact, and other analyses, as appropriate.
  • Deliverables will include the modelling strategy, model structure, programmed model, technical report, users guide, and presentation files.
  • Create, lead and maintain strong collaborations with HE modelling KOLs, academic researchers, and external consultancies to keep abreast of latest and innovative methods.
  • Drive business development and further adoption of our services across the Group
  • Work closely with HE Program Directors, HE Franchise Heads and Clinical Development Units as required, to support needs for HE modelling and assessments that can support brand value evaluation
  • Take ownership of deliverables and drive customer interaction and communication
  • Collaborate with functional heads and team leads in driving quality and accuracy of deliverables; constantly work on improving systems, processes and quality matrices that add value to the existing solutions and offerings.
  • Establish quality standards and ensure most innovative methods used for the development of cost-effectiveness models and budget impact models (whether built internally or with external experts)
  • Oversee country roll out and training of global HE models; support country response to payer inquiries including subgroup scenario analyses/modelling.
  • Lead and implement innovative modelling approaches across franchises using state of the art methodologies
  • Lead study design development and implementation across a variety of therapeutic areas;
  • Drafting abstracts and manuscripts as lead or co-author; and in charge of the publication strategy for the modelling team in Dublin
  • Mentor and train junior staff (interns, graduates, modelling specialists)
  • Provide strategic and scientific leadership and guidance to customers, indirect reports and other HE teams

Key skills and experience for the Health Economics Modelling Manager:

  • Undergraduate degree in a relevant discipline is highly desirable
  • Training in health economics, epidemiology, and health services research or statistics.
  • Extensive experience conducting health services or related research combined with hands-on experience building and evaluating health economic models.
  • Working knowledge of health care reimbursement and HTA review processes
  • Ability to arrive at simple yet robust analysis and in-sights from complex data sources; ability to convert hard/raw data into meaningful analysis
  • Organizational, planning, resource and project management skills.
  • Interpersonal and communication skills and ability to operate effectively in an international environment

Desirable requirements:

  • Master's/PhD in a relevant discipline.
  • Advanced skills in modelling software (eg Excel, R, Visual Basic)
